Five 98 Degrees Songs That Should Be In Your Wedding

Back in the 90s and early 2000s, girls debate over which boyband was better: Backstreet Boys or NSYNC and TBH, I couldn’t care less for I was not one to be tricked by dance moves (gotta admit they were cute though); I found myself paying attention to the lyrics, which explains why I liked 98 Degrees so much better. It also didn’t hurt that a girl could get lost in Nick Lachey’s piercing blue eyes, right?

As the vocal quartet gears up to set foot on Philippine soil once again for An Evening with 98 Degrees” The Philippine Tour 2020, I couldn’t help but look back at how wedding-oriented most of their songs were. So, with “The Hardest Thing” on repeat on my Spotify, I listed down the top 98 Degrees songs that would convince brides-to-be not to skip these guys on their wedding playlist.

Just look at the wordings and you’ll know why.

I Do (Cherish You)

An obvious choice. This song was tailor-made for weddings.

“All I am, all I’ll be
Everything in this world
All that I’ll ever need
Is in your eyes
Shining at me

I do cherish you
For the rest of my life
You don’t have to think twice”

Still

This one is simply about promising and assurance, and who doesn’t want that?

“Because deep in my soul I know girl
That you are the only light I see
Your love means everything to me
I promise that we’ll never part
‘Cause you’ll always be near, here in my heart

If the sun, should refuse to rise
And the moon, doesn’t hang in the night
The tides won’t change, seasons rearrange
When the world is through
I will still love you”

Thank God I Found you

Technically, this song is on Mariah Carey’s album, but it captures what marriage is about: finding the right person and being thankful for it.

“I finally found unvarnished truth
I was all by myself for the longest time
So cold inside
And the hurt from the heartache would not subside
I felt like dying
Until you saved my life
Thank God I found you”

Because of You

For that I-miss-you-already-I-cannot-get-enough-of-you kind of romance.

“Cause when I close my eyes at night
I realize that no one else could ever take your place
I still can feel and it’s so unreal
When you’re touching me, kisses endlessly”

My Everything

C’mon, it’s basically something that could be incorporated to a wedding vow.

“My life is yours alone
The only love I’ve ever known
Your spirit pulls me through
When nothing else will do
Every night I pray
On bended knee
That you will always be
My everything”

She loves breakfast food but not during breakfast time (she loves sleeping more, but that deserves another story), the beach (though she never has the time to go to one anymore), and her not-so baby boy (who's the reason why she so desperately loves sleeping and why she can never have a beach getaway anymore).
